Hi Thomas and all. These days I'm enjoying some great communities of practice where BIG questions are being asked. Maybe the practice of Open Space, or The Art of Hosting, or Genuine Contact, is appropriate to share in these communities. I know some OS practitioners who are members already, and I'm sure that others have experiences with our practices. I'm more engaged in these communities of CONTENT than I am with our community of PROCESS. Maybe an unhelpful distinction. But I am open to ways they might serve one another. Is there a theme around here for a Thursday in the Qiqo Gardens? First is the Design School for Regenerating Earth: < https://www.bioregionalearth.org/pathway/design-school> who are "helping people live into the story of Bioregional Earth by regenerating their bioregions and building a planetary network of learning exchanges." Their landing page has a great quote that reminds me of Harrison! "(We embrace) the fundamental insight that all living systems self-organize around the patterns of regeneration. Applied to the scale of entire landscapes, this reveals how all truly sustainable human cultures throughout history were organized at the territorial scale as bioregional economies. A planet-wide network of learning ecosystems is needed that can hold the complexity of birthing these regenerative bioregions." *"Self-organizing around patterns of regeneration"* is my new favorite phrase to inquire into Open Space! I had not seen that quote until today. How about that for a gift from the sea? Another place is A School Called HOME: <https://aschoolcalledhome.org/> who are "a gathering place and a learning community for those who are drawn to the work of regrowing a living culture." And another is called Collective Acceleration: < https://www.collective-acceleration.org/start-here> Your phrase "washing up on the beach" brings memories when young, walking a beach near Santa Cruz, California, near my aunt and uncle's home. Sometimes a gray whale is found on that beach or nearby, along their Pacific migration route. And not far to the south is Monterey, where Open Space washed up in July 1985, as a gift to humans and others...
