Here's a story for you all.
Several teens at my high school solved two global problems this past
semester.
First, they designed a new device to capture orbital space junk. The
aerospace engineer who critiqued it said, "This is a fantastic
concept...You should submit to NASA." NASA is currently circulating the
design internally in order to evaluate it.
Second, all students were invited to articulate all the harmful effects of
current social media apps, especially for younger users. Two students then
designed a new social media app that addresses these harmful effects. They
have incorporated and are beginning to implement it.
I am trying to spread this story and attract high school teachers to get
their teens involved to help clean up the messes that my generation is
leaving Gen Z and Gen A.
I welcome any ideas on recruiting teachers. Or, any other ideas that the
people at Open Space World might be interested in related to solving global
problems.
Thanks,
Tony McCaffrey
