Hi all,

I received the request below from two friends. I have sent it to a few people who live in or near Asheville but am also putting the request out more broadly to this list.

Peggy

P.S. Normally I would reach out. But I leave in a week for WOSonOS https://wosonos2024.istanbul/ in Istanbul, then on to India for work with SOIL https://www.soil.edu.in/ - the School of Inspired Leadership.

Hi gang,

Most of you know that Kevin Jones, Rosa Lee and their family were in the thick of the destruction caused by floods in and around Asheville. You're less likely to know that the relief efforts in their communities have gone better than expected, thanks in no small part to all the community links created before the floods. They still have a long way to go to return to normalcy, but as Kevin writes https://symbioticfund.wordpress.com/2024/10/15/the-disastereconomy-feels-good/, they'll likely miss the crisis when things return to "normal."

One of the things that needs to happen is getting relief funds to the people who really need them. There is a more specific problem within that issue: some groups are easy to find and fund, because they're part of known organizations. Others are hidden because they have no such representation, so they are not "line items" for relief funding.

Asheville would like to run an Open Space process to address this problem (and maybe others?). They have a small budget. If you are trained in Open Space or know an awesome facilitator who is (like Kaliya, copied here), please reply to Kevin or forward this email.

Cheers,
Jerry

Hey Friends,
I am trained in OST. And, the folks in Asheville that I know of who are
even more experienced than I are Ashley Cooper (who is in this group) and,
I believe,  Lucia White.
I'm happy to investigate further.  I've been longing for Open Space in
Asheville and our region as those of us with capacity begin to think about
a resilient, regenerative recovery.

Hi gang,

Most of you know that Kevin Jones, Rosa Lee and their family were in the
thick of the destruction caused by floods in and around Asheville. You're
less likely to know that the relief efforts in their communities have gone
better than expected, thanks in no small part to all the community links
created before the floods. They still have a long way to go to return to
normalcy, but as Kevin writes
https://symbioticfund.wordpress.com/2024/10/15/the-disastereconomy-feels-good/,
they'll likely miss the crisis when things return to "normal."

One of the things that needs to happen is getting relief funds to the
people who really need them. There is a more specific problem within that
issue: some groups are easy to find and fund, because they're part of known
organizations. Others are hidden because they have no such representation,
so they are not "line items" for relief funding.

Asheville would like to run an Open Space process to address this problem
(and maybe others?). They have a small budget. If you are trained in Open
Space or know an awesome facilitator who is (like Kaliya, copied here),
please reply to Kevin or forward this email.

Cheers,
Jerry

Cheers,
Jerry
