Dear Open Space List members, Some of you have seen the Open Space Video from Liberia (Open Space back to Balama) at WOSONOS 2024. Larry Melling and I had the idea for this video, Larry was the main facilitator in the video. He would very much like to participate in this years WOSONOS. In an email (below) he wrote to the WOSONOS team already, explaining his financial situation. There might be some small funds to help him with the accommodation, but his travel expenses are still not covered at all. The organization he works for gets less support than before, so they are not able to sponsor his trip. His salary of 150 USD per month is hardly enough to take care of his family. I therefore decided to try if it is possible to crowdfund for his travel expenses which will be around 1500 Euros / 1700 USD. Unfortunately, flights within the African continent are very expensive as much or more than flying to Europe. The advantage of the WOSONOS taking place in Kenya is that there is no issue with getting a visa. I hope this way, and with more initiatives like this, there will be participants from different African countries at the WOSONOS in Kenya!
