Thanks again my friends for all the support.
I had a meeting with my sponsors today. They think that some people may be upset but also there are others who don’t see this as a major disturbance.
We discussed different options and concluded that we will go ahead with an open space this first day after all.
The plan is that the head of the community organisation will share a bit briefly about the situation at hand then I facilitate a round of cheek in chairs inviting the participants to share how they feel right now…?
After that, 10-minute break with an invitation to come back to the circle for the open space.
For the cheek and chairs, I would love ideas about a framing the question, any ideas?
Everybody will have paper and pen to write down their answer. I will invite them to read it out to lessen the risk of someone invading the space
Things may still change depending on how it feels tomorrow.
I expect the tent will be furnished by now. It is 27×12 m. Curious to see how it looks when I arrive tomorrow three hours before the start.
I will make some photos and share how it goes!
Good night
Thomas
Peggy I am considering starting cheek in chairs sitting instead of standing. Have you thought about the difference? Any preference?
To me it feels more energetic to stand up to agree/when you had written something similar compared to sitting down. On the other hand it may be easier to get folks started standing, because they might want to sit down.... On second thought that seems to me to be a good reason for starting standing.
Thanks for letting me reflect out loud.
Anyone having any reflections on this process, welcome!
Good night again
Thomas
