Dear Friends,
Last year, in Berlin, when WOSonOS 24 in Istanbul was announced and Funda
shared her passionate invitation, I was excited and already then started to
look forward to this unique gathering, spanning two continents, and making
it possible not just to meet up with old and dear friends, but also to get
closer to the realities of modern Turkey and to learn from the local field
of practitioners. And now, not least, to share in a collective
memorialization of Harrison.
Berlin was very special for me. Some of you may remember I brought a
question: how to host and harvest a 500+ participant OS in an awkward
space. Thanks to the suggestions and advice you shared then, I am happy to
report that the event in Luxembourg in March was a resounding success. I
could not have done it without the inspiration from this Community.
One month ago – on a hike in the woods near Brussels – I had a sudden
health crisis. I was taken to hospital for emergency surgery and spent
almost three weeks in the surgical ward before I had recovered enough to go
home. It was a close call, but the prognosis is good and I should be fully
recovered by the end of the year.
This crisis has left me grateful every day to still be here, to share in
the love and the positive energy and protection I feel around me. So it is
sad for me not to be able to take part in WOSonOS 24 in person. But I can
assure you, I am with you in spirit.
I wish you all a spectacular 30th WOSonOS. May the Force of
self-organisation be with you!
