The GC Learning Cohort is a guided, mentor-led leadership program built on real practice. Most leadership development leaves you to find out, on your own, whether what you learned holds up once you are back in your own organization. Here, a mentor guides you as you build your leadership on a structured foundation, then put it to work right away, inside a living global organization, with stakes that are real, but are not your own. Thank you Thomas. This Learning Cohort is a very special opportunity in leadership development for leaders who have the courage to make regular use of OST meetings in their organizations. One of my stories of being interviewed by a leader many years ago was an inspiration for the leadership learning incubator that was co-created in the International Genuine Contact Organization. He was interested in my stories of leading in what in the 1990's I used to call the conscious open space organization and wanted to contract my services as a consultant. The result was that he said he needed more leadership development to build his capacity to lead differently so he quit his job to build that capacity. it is also valuable for consultants who accompany leaders as their thought partners to dive deeply into practical experience of how leading in an organization that makes regular use of OST meetings feels. Hi Birgitt and Thomas, Thanks for sharing these stories what you both write mirrors so much of my experience being engaged in the International Genuine Contact Organization. Engaging with this organization made it possible for me to shift my own work. I met Open Space and you, when i was already an experienced trainer, and facilitator, which was good and has great value. The thing was my interest had shifted to wanting more long-term contact and impact with my clients, and I wanted to work more with ongoing organizational development questions with them. By getting involved, and at that time not so consciously, what I ended up giving myself was a true deep dive into what it is like to be part of an organization that uses Open Space and the GC approach as its modus operandi. I had a chance to experience this from so many levels, as a member of the organization, as someone facilitating activities for it, and as someone in a leadership role guiding the organization through its many changes. This work was key to my ability to work well with clients who were also adopting this new way of working, which required leadership development on their part. I am very glad that we've created this Leadership Learning Cohort opportunity and in this way providng an explicit framework for this learning journey. I'm excited to see how it unfolds, and also proud to be part of its development.
