🍂 Happy Thanksgiving from the Mahoning Watershed Network

A message from Tony, MWN Coach

Dear Friends,

As we gather for Thanksgiving, I want to share my gratitude for you —
the neighbors, partners, and everyday change makers who make the
Mahoning Watershed Network such a powerful place to live, learn, and
build together.

This season reminds us that community isn’t something we inherit. It’s
something we create — through the choices we make, the values we
practice, and the ways we show up for one another. At the Mahoning
Watershed Network, we’re working to mainstream a culture in which people
base their decisions and actions on a simple yet transformative set of
shared values.

Below is our simplified version of the MWN Core Values, grounded in
the wisdom of Edgar Cahn and shaped for everyday use:

*🌱 MWN Core Values (Simplified)*

1. Everyone Is an Asset
Every person has strengths, gifts, and experiences that matter.

2. All Real Work Counts
Raising children, caring for elders, strengthening neighborhoods,
protecting the planet — this is the work that keeps society alive, and
it deserves recognition.

3. Reciprocity Is the Way
Instead of “How can I help you?”, we ask “How can we help each other?”
We build the world we want by doing it together.

4. Community Is Our Strength
We thrive when we are connected — building trust, sharing support, and
weaving networks rooted in mutual respect.

5. Respect Requires Accountability
Everyone’s voice matters. Listening deeply and acting with fairness is
how we advance justice and strengthen our democracy.

This Thanksgiving, I invite you to carry these values into your
conversations, your gatherings, and your decisions. When we treat each
other as assets, honor the real work people do, and practice
reciprocity, we create a culture where everyone belongs, and everyone
contributes.

Thank you for being part of this growing movement in the Mahoning
Watershed Network. Your presence, your curiosity, and your willingness
to build something better together give me hope every day.

Wishing you a warm, joyful, and connected Thanksgiving.

With gratitude,
Tony
Coach, Mahoning Watershed Network
